Butterfly or Bee?
Today, I watched a helpless bee die and it gave me things to think about. I decided to write them on my wonderful tumblr. It’s just a little thing that shows the two different kinds of people in the world.
Butterfly
A butterfly starts out as a caterpillar. Caterpillars eat alot and alot, at least thats what it says in the Very Hungry Caterpillar. But I think if you are a butterfly, you eat alot and alot as well, in the sense that you want nourishment, and want to eat as much information.
But, caterpillars also then form a cocoon so that can change into the magnificent butterfly. So, if you are a butterfly, you constantly want to change for the better. You often want to make yourself the best person you can be. (Not change like, change yourself so you can be popular or something, but change like to be a gooder(is that a word?) person). And after, caterpillars come out, they change into a butterfly, one with extraordinary wings and wonder. I think after we choose change to ourselves we ourselves become butterflies.
And last but not least, butterflies fly and become free. They probably even don’t think about their caterpillar days. So when we become butterflies, the change that occurs is so humongous we don’t think about our old self days.
Butterflies are extraordinary insects. It’s amazing how they change so drastically, and it just reminded me of the few people in this world who do the same.
Bee
Bees are good animals, too, but in most ways, we automatically portray them as bad. Just like we portray our evil coworker, or the annoying person in your life.
Today I saw that dying bee in a different light. He had probably been nonchalantly swimming around the baby pool and fell in the water. This probably soaked his wings, and not to mention the huge amount of chlorine. I saw him limping behind a gray bin, laying still.
I thought of how meanly we see bees. They sting mercilessly and without apology. Some people are allergic and die from them.
We’ve seen the movies and all the ways they can horrify us, but then I think of the everyday people like that. The school bully. The mean teacher. The annoying sister.
Maybe people just assumed they were mean, and avoided them. Maybe. And they just learned to sting in self defense. Maybe they couldn’t learn to trust anymore.
I guess we can’t always make assumptions about people, because it can hurt them. I mean, I’ve seen a bee get caught by someone who put it in a jar and shook it, til it’s buzzing ceased to an eerie silence.
Just look out for the bees, butterflies and show them they can spread their wings to fly and be seen in a new light. :)
